Teamwork's compliance efforts include:

  • Ensure that our actions comply with applicable state and federal regulations including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Pay Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,  Department of Labor and other government laws and regulations
  • Respond to Government agencies in regards to compliance (EEOC, Wage & Hour, OSHA, etc.)
  • Comply with Wage and Hour guidelines in computation of pay, reporting of hours and retention
  • Follow guidelines of each state in administering multiple-state payrolls
  • Maintain knowledge of multi-state garnishment laws, state court, superior court, magistrate court, bankruptcy, child support, state tax liens, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of tax law changes governing pension plans, health and dental insurance and Section 125
  • Submit OCSE New Hire Report as required by law
  • Verify employment status of employees to various government agencies:  SSA, Housing and Urban Development, Child Enforcement, etc.
  • Ensure that employees under age eighteen obtain work permits and monitor hours worked as enforced by the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division
  • Provide the Georgia Department of Labor Separation Notice to terminated employees
  • Track expiration dates of non-resident/resident alien employees' employment authorization documents and notify employees when it's time to renew work authorization
  • Review employees' I-9 Forms to maintain compliance
  • Enroll employers in the E-Verify program upon requestor as required by law, using the Designated Agent reporting method
  • Monitor the reporting and payment of tips to ensure employees receive the minimum wage and receive the mandated amount of overtime pay
  • Perform periodic social security number verifications
  • Provide, and review annually, required Federal and state labor posters
  • Provide employee compliance training (harassment, diversity, etc.)
